Anyone not qualifying will have their money refunded

Chess Federation of Canada:
All players must be (or become) a member of the CFC or pay a CFC Tournament Fee
1) CFC Annual Membership (PEI) - Adult - $41, Junior (U20) - $28
2) CFC Tournament Fee (PEI): Adult - $8, Junior - $4

PEI Closed Championship

Top five rated PEI players, by rating as of 2024/08/10 (or after the PEI Open is rated), who were "active" (4 or more games) after 2023/07/01 plus the defending champion will qualify.
Any vacancies will be filled from the active player rating list (minimum of 1400 rating).
Rating used will be the maximum of "active" CFC Regular or "active" CFC Quick
Provisional ratings** based on 4 games or more are acceptable, but will have 100 points deducted

Time control: G/25, with a 15 sec delay

Check-in 9am-9:15am

Rounds at 9:30am, 11am, 1:30pm, 3pm, 4:30pm

Guaranteed Prizes: 1st - $100 (and keeper trophy), 2nd - $60, 3rd - $30
