REGULAR SECTION

Open to players born in 2000 or later

LIMIT of 16 PLAYERS
Check-In/Registration: 8:45 - 9:15am

Format: 4 Round swiss
Time Control: G/60 min (REGULAR CFC Rated/CMA Rated). Incremental time controls will be used where digital clocks are available: G/45, with a 15 sec delay
Rounds at 9:30am, 11:30am, 2:15pm, 4:15pm (approx)


QUICK CHESS SECTION

Open to players born in 2006 or later with a CMA Rating < 900, CFC Established Regular Rating < 1100 (or provisional Regular Rating < 1150), and CFC Established Quick Chess Rating < 1200 (or provisional Quick Chess Rating < 1250)
PEI players in K-4 or with a CMA rating under 500 should get permission to play from the organizer

LIMIT of 32 PLAYERS
Check-In/Registration: 9:15 - 9:45am
Format: 5 Round swiss
Time Control: G/25 min (QUICK CHESS CFC Rated/CMA Rated). Incremental time controls will be used where digital clocks are available: G/20, with a 5 sec delay
Rounds at 10am, 10:50am, 11:40am, 12:30pm, 1:20pm (approx)

Each round in this section is scheduled to last 50 minutes - players will be able to play fun games between rounds, but good behaviour is expected at all times !!
Parents or guardians will be expected to remain on site for players K-3.

Other

"Junior Only" CFC** tournaments do not require CFC membership; However
1) CFC Annual Membership (PEI)(includes subscription to monthly on-line Canadian Chess News magazine) - $27
2) CFC Membership rates for other provinces

** Chess Federation of Canada (CFC) is the National Chess Federation


Weather Concerns

Weather can always be a concern at this time of year. Players who are concerned about weather conditions can call me the morning of the tournament for an update.
The event will go on if travelling is safe in the Charlottetown area (and the University is "open").
Announcement about a possible storm date will be made, ASAP, in the event of cancellation

Players coming from off-Island may be interested in coming Saturday and playing in the UPEI Spring Quick Chess Tournament
