Maritime Chess Club

Our club started meeting 4 times a week at the beginning of the pandemic and consisted of players culled from my e-mail contacts. I thought this would be preferable for many players to playing anonymous opponents. If you would like to take part in the fun you can ask to join Maritime Chess Club on either Chess.com or LiChess.org. The membership fee is $10 for 12 months, but you're welcome to a couple of free events to try us out.

Right now (mid-December), we are playing our weekly events on LiChess.org: Rapid Chess (10|5) on Monday and Thursday nights, at 7pm Atlantic time.

The Calendar of Events is updated every Sunday for the upcoming week.

All of our events are Club rated:Maritime Chess Club Blitz and Rapid Ratings

At the moment we're holding a CFC Quick Chess Rated tournament every 4th weekend on LiChess.org. The time control is 15|10. Membership in both the Club and the CFC is required. Entry fee is $5 for Amateurs or $10 for Pros. The only difference in the two classifications is that Amateur players can only win a maximum of $25.
Our next CFC event is Saturday, January 2 at 10am ADT -- PLAYING at LICHESS.ORG

UPEI Junior Chess Club

Our club started meeting 5 times a week at the beginning of the pandemic and consisted of Junior players culled from my e-mail contacts. We started on ChessKid.com, which is a great site, but had lots of connectivity issues, and have since moved to LiChess.org. The membership fee is $10 for 6 months, but you're welcome to a couple of free events to try us out.

Right now (mid-July), we are playing either in the afternoon at 4pm, and will continue as long as we can continue to get 6 players out. The Calendar of Events is updated every Sunday for the upcoming week.
